Q What are the Compacts?
The Compacts
Compacts are codes of practice to help smooth relationships between government and the voluntary sector. Each local council has drawn up a Compact for their own area.
These are the latest known available on the web (last updated 6/6/08):
- Halton MBC: http://www2.halton.gov.uk/pdfs/councilanddemocracy/councilplans/alocalcompactforhalton
- Liverpool CC: There’s a copy at the Compact Commission's website (www.thecompact.org.uk/shared_asp_files/GFSR.asp?NodeID=100454) but it is not apparently available online locally. Liverpool First website says currently says that it’s "being revised". Don't be confused by www.liverpoolcompact.org.uk - that's about a different sort of Compact between schools and employers.
- Knowsley MBC:
